G R A T I T U D E
I’m a single mum.
I’m also a small business owner.
If you’re not both of those things you have no fucken idea how hard it can be.
Sometimes those around me judge me not understanding the responsibilities my life carries. They question the amount of time I spend with my child, why I allow my ex to have so much visitation, and his development. Don’t even get me started the looks and comments when they see me give my child a iPad.
I’m doing my best.
But this is who I am right now. I choose to cook pancakes for dinner, record bedtime stories for the times I’m too tired to talk and spoil my beautiful child with all the love I can give and I couldn’t be happier.
I’m lucky enough to do what I love and have a little human who loves me unconditionally.
So today If you come across a single parent remind them how spectacular they are. Because I promise you they don’t hear it very often it at all.
AFTERTHOUGHT: This post came from someone telling me that I was doing a good job as a mum. It made me realise how rarely I hear positive reinforcement about my personal life. I’m grateful for all I have and the amazing people that keep me going. x
